This painting is done on a 20″x16″ Gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are 1.5″ and they are finished so there is no need for a frame. I had this image in my head for at least a week. This is the canvas that I first gessoed so there is a lot of texture. I then painted the whole thing with ultramarine with a little bit of titanium white mixed in. I did the front with a palette knife, and had some of the white gesso come through. Then I painted the image with a flat bristle brush and the paint was thick, so there is more texture. I just love the soothing blues. I am showing the painting from all angles. I’m not sure which way it should be hung. What do you think?
